New Openings Screen Single Tab: MatDesigner

Click Mat Design from New section of the main screen.

Stay on the Single tab.

To start with a blank mat using the default outside size, click Cancel.

OR

Go to defaults and select Skip New Openings under editor: new openings screen.

Hint: Alternately, enter desired outside dimension and click OK.

Enter width/height of the opening.

• Click Sizes to select recent or standard sizes.

• Click Swap to switch numbers between width/height.

NOTE: Outside size field displays on top if Opening Size First is unchecked in defaults under editor.

Optionally, enter dimensions for outside size first.

The opening size is entered.

Enter bottom, top and side mat border widths. Set the borders order in defaults under Borders.

Arrow indicator displays whether borders are applied top layer down or bottom layer up.
Set border order in defaults under borders.

The borders are set.

If opening size and borders are entered first, the program automatically calculates the outside size when tabbing out of the borders field.

If the outside size is changed, then the borders are recalculated.

NOTE: If Opening Size First is checked in defaults under editor, the opening size field displays on top.

The outside size is displayed.

Click on the template thumbnail under template design.

Template library opens.

Click on new template thumbnail to select it.

The new template is displayed.

Enter number of layers, with a maximum of six layers.

Enter the reveal amount for each layer.

Click on the cartridge icon and select the desired cartridge for this layer.

The default cartridge is the 45° cartridge.

Click RB (Reverse Bevel) checkbox to make the layer a reverse bevel.

NOTE: Cartridges not currently available will be greyed out.

Click Reset on new openings screen to clear current numbers (i.e., start over).

This does not reset the template; the last template used is still displayed.

Click Cut on the new openings screen to take the design to the Cut Preview.

Click Back on the Cut Preview after cutting to return to new openings screen to create the next design.

Click OK on the new openings screen to bring design to the editor.

The work space displays from the front of the mat.
