Visualize Walk-Through

This section will walk you through taking an image with the camera and using the Visualize software to display the finished piece.

Take a photo to use in the software.

On the Images tab, click on the Take Picture button.  

The camera remote capture screen opens where the user can make selections before taking the photo.

If using a Wink camera, select the desired Color Profile before taking the picture.

Select the Use Color Profile checkbox to use the currently displayed profile.

Optionally, select a different color profile from the dropdown control.

Optionally, you can adjust the colors manually.

To adjust camera settings manually, uncheck Use Color Profile.

Take the picture which will load into the Visualization editor.

Click the Take Picture button to take the picture with the camera.

The image appears on the Visualization editor.

As selections are made, they are displayed in the horizontal preview and on the Corner Sample pane. 

The horizontal preview area along the bottom displays the current selection and how the edges line up. User can move and adjust the selection until the repeating pattern is as desired.

Since samples are rarely perfectly laid out, you can rotate the selection to match the frame/texture/art angle.  

Click on selection rectangle to put it in focus.

Click on the handle on the right side of the selection and drag it up/down to rotate the selection.

Release the cursor to set the selection at the desired angle.

Select the art region from the photo taken/loaded.

Click on the Art Regions tab.

Click the Add New Art Region button.  

In the editor, draw a box around the art to select it.   

The size of the area selected will be displayed in the width and height fields of the Selected Region field, which can be edited.

Optionally, click the Add Full Size Art Region button to select the entire image displayed on the current tab.

Additional openings can be added in the same fashion.

To edit their placement, click on the Design icon to go to Designer.

Apply the desired art regions to any Unassigned Openings in the software. 

If openings are brought into Visualize from Designer, they will be displayed in the Unassigned Openings list. Assign artwork to these openings by selecting the desired art and applying the opening to it. 

Have the desired artwork displayed on the current image tab.

Click on the desired opening listed on the Unassigned Openings listing.

Click Add Art Region from Opening button. 

The art region will be placed onto the current image tab.

Click and drag the art region to the desired position on the current image.

Repeat as necessary with the other unassigned openings.

Select the number of frames you wish to use on this project.

Click on the Mats and Frames tab. 

Enter the number of frames desired in the Number of Frames field.

Enter/Scan SKU of Frame

Type, scan or select from the SKU field dropdown control the SKU of the desired frame.

If the texture thumbnail is available, it will appear on the Samples Preview. If it is not available, a gray placeholder the thickness of the moulding is displayed on the Samples Preview. 

If the texture thumbnail is not available, you can create one using the Set Frame Texture feature below.

Select the Frame Texture if the selected SKU does not have a frame texture saved to it.

Click the down arrow next to the desired frame layer and select Set Texture to set the frame texture. Optionally, select Set Texture with Auto Snap if the selection is high contrast enough to allow the software to automatically snap to the top and bottom of the texture.

Draw a box around the frame or fill sample desired, using the smallest repeatable section of the frame image. 

Rotate the selection as needed to match the frame sample. Click and move any of the control points to edit the selection. The repeating pattern is shown at the bottom of the screen to assist with selection and rotation.

The current thumbnail selection is displayed in the Samples Preview window. 

The selected Frame texture displays in the Preview Tab on the Corner Sample.

Mats

Select the number of mats you wish to use for this project.

Enter the number of mat layers desired in the Number of Mats field.

Enter/Scan SKU of Mat

Type, scan or select from the 

SKU field dropdown control the SKU of the desired mat.

If the color or texture thumbnail is available, it will appear on the Samples Preview. If it is not available, a default color is displayed. 

If the texture thumbnail is not available, you can create one using the Set Texture or Set Solid/Core Color features below.

Select the Mat Texture or Mat Color if the selected SKU does not have a mat texture saved to it.

Click the down arrow next to the desired mat layer and select Set Texture to select the mat texture.  

In the editor, start in the upper left corner of the artwork, draw a box selecting the texture sample desired, using the smallest repeatable section of the texture image.

Release the mouse button to make the selection.  

The selection is displayed in the samples preview window.

Click the down arrow next to the desired mat layer and select Set Solid Color to set the mat color.  

In the editor, click on the desired color to select it.  

The color displays in the samples preview window.

Set Mat Core Color

Click the down arrow next to the desired mat layer and select Set Core Color icon. 

In the editor, click on the desired color to select it.

The core color displays in the samples preview window as the matboard core color.

Set Mat SKU by Color

Click the down arrow next to the desired mat layer and select Set SKU by Color to select the mat color SKU. 

On the editor, click on the desired color to select it. 

The Select Color SKU screen will open.

Click on the desired SKU to select it and click the Select button. 

The selected mat color displays in the Preview Tab on the Corner Sample.

Set the Mat Color using the Complimentary Color Palette based on the complimentary colors of the selected artwork image.

Click on the desired color sample in the Complimentary Colors section.

Select the desired mat layer for the color, mat SKU or select to add it as a new mat layer.

If the Complimentary Colors section is not displayed, return to the Art Regions tab and click on the desired Art Region. 

The complimentary colors palette will be created using the colors within the selected art region.

Save SKU Images

The selected thumbnails of the Frame Moulding Texture/Matboard Texture and/or Color can be saved to their associated SKUs by saving the SKU images or when you save the project.

This allows the selected thumbnails to be displayed the next time you select that particular SKU.

Click File > Save SKU Images to save the Frame Moulding/Matboard thumbnails selected to the appropriate SKUs. 

Select the checkbox for each new Frame texture/Matboard texture and/or color selection that you wish to save with the SKU that has been entered.

The checkbox is grayed out for any SKUs that already have a texture/color assigned to it.

Click the Save button.

The next time you select this SKU when designing a project, the saved texture/color will be applied to the design.

Visualize the finished project and make any last adjustments.

Click on the Preview Tab to visualize the finished project with the selected frame and matboard.

Make any additional adjustments, save the project, or cut the project.

NOTE: If you need to edit the placement of openings, click on the Design icon (magic wand) in the upper right corner of the screen to go to the Designer portion of the software.

Click Take Snapshot to save a snapshot of the current project. The snapshot section allows the user to save several different snapshot variations of the project which can then be displayed on the screen for comparison.

A snapshot of the current project is taken, which includes the frames, mats, fillets, etc.

The user can now return to the Mats and Frames tab and make new selections for this artwork.

Repeat as necessary, then compare the Snapshots (instructions below).

After creating several design snapshots displaying different mats and frames of the current project, you can compare several of them on the screen so that the customer can select the one they like.

Select the Snapshots by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on each desired Snapshot. Optionally, click the Select All button.

Click the Compare Selected button.

On the Snapshot Preview screen, select how you would like the Snapshots displayed.

When you have decided on which Snapshot you like the best, close the Snapshot Preview screen. Select the desired Snapshot from the snapshots section and click Set Current button to load it as the current project.

The project is now ready to be saved and/or cut.
