How to Make a Parallelogram Using the #507: Pennant

  • These instructions will walk you through making a Parallelogram using the #507: Pennant template.

  • Click New Mat Design on the FrameShop Main Page.

  • Click Cancel on the New Openings Screen.

  • On the Openings Tab, bring the template #507: Pennant template onto the Editor.

  • Click on the Properties Tab to edit it.

  • Enter the desired size for the #507: Pennant opening.

  • Click on the Parameters tab.

  • We will be designing the shape sideways and then rotating it.

  • Change the Parameters as desired.

  • For this example we changed:

    • Tail is 0

    • Taper is 1.25.

  • Rotate the opening to the desired orientation.

  • Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the current opening onto the Editor so that we have two of the same openings.

  • Rotate the second opening so that it is in the opposite orientation of the first opening.

  • Position the second opening so that it lines up with the original opening.

  • Move it so that one corner of the two openings meet.

    • Align the top right corners for the side angles to lean left.

    • Align the top left corners for the side angles to lean right.

  • Select both openings (Ctrl+A) and click the Group Selection button.

  • The openings will merge together and create a single opening.

    • If it does not line up correctly, click Group Selection again, click on the background to unselect the opening and reposition them and repeat the steps.

  • Our Parallelogram design is now completed.
