How to Make a Shadowbox with Cove Sides |
---|
Click New Mat Design on the FrameShop Main Page. Click Cancel on the New Openings Screen. Click on the Properties Tab and enter the outside dimensions. Click on the Openings Tab and bring over a Template #106 Mixed onto the work area. Click on the Mixed template and click on the Properties Tab. Enter the Opening Size dimensions for the back of your shadow box. Set the number of Layers to 2. Set the top mat to be Template #614 Spike and the bottom layer to be Template #101 Rectangle.

| |
Click the Parameters Tab. Select the #614 Spike Layer in the Params for Layer toggle. Set the Height value the same as the Reveal value entered previously. Set the Width value at half the value of the Height.

To cut the mat, place the matboard in the CMC face-down. Select to NOT cut the Outside. Set the Blade Depth to 7 (or your V-Groove Blade Depth). Cut the bottom Rectangle layer, but do not remove the matboard. Return the Blade Depth to the normal setting and cut the top #614 Spike layer. Remove the matboard. Close the corners and reinforce the folds with linen tape. Your Shadowbox is done.
