52° Normal Bevel Open V-Groove Definition

  • The 52° Normal Bevel Open V-Groove involves two symmetrical cuts: one in the matboard and a corresponding cut in the fallout, both forming a mirrored arrangement a specified distance apart.

  • Both the matboard core and the lower layer matboard are visible from the front.

  • The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut.

  • The Bevel Type determines the initial blade plunge position.

  • The Drop is one of the categories within certain opening styles, like the initial section cut of an Open V-Groove. However, it cannot be chosen as a standalone bevel type within Designer.

First Cut: Cuts the Interior cut into the Fallout Clockwise: Normal Bevel Drop.

Second Cut: Cuts the Exterior cut into the Matboard Counter-Clockwise: Normal Bevel Opening.

Select Normal Drop or Normal Drop-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit the interior cut configuration.

Select Normal Bevel or Normal Bevel-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit the exterior cut configuration.

 How to Adjust the Configurations

When adjusting Configurations, click the Plus (Increase) or Minus (Decrease) button on the desired field about five times.

Click OK and do another test cut.

Continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved.
