Fan Openings

  • The Fan Openings section is used to rotate and fan out a selection of objects around a pivot point.

  • Openings can be fanned Horizontally or Vertically.

 Fan Definition

The Fan function will arrange a selection of objects into a curved radius around a focus point positioned at the Fan Distance entered in Designer.

Fan Direction

Select Fan Direction to Fan Openings

  • Position and select the desired openings.

  • Enter either the Horizontal or Vertical Fan Distance.

  • Click the Set Fan button next to the Horizontal or Vertical Fan Distance entered. 

  • The openings will be fanned by the Distance entered.

  • You can click on the middle Fan Control Point and drag it to increase/decrease the fan as well.

  • If the fan is unselected (i.e., the mouse is clicked elsewhere on the design), reselect the objects and click Set Fan to reset the fan function to continue editing it.

Fan Distance

  • Fan Distance is the height of the fan from the center of the end objects.

    • Positive value fans the objects Upwards.

    • Negative value fans the objects Downward.

  • The Fan can also be adjusted by clicking and moving the center Control Point of the Fan and drag with the mouse.

  • If the fan is unselected (i.e., the mouse is clicked elsewhere on the design), reselect the objects and click Set Fan to reset the fan function to edit it.
