90 Degree Cartridge Configurations

  • The 90 Degree Cartridge cuts into the matboard at 90° and leaves no bevel.

The 90° Cartridge cuts a 90° Right Angle into the matboard. The matboard core is not visible from the front.

The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut.

Select [Bevel Type] or [Bevel Type]-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit this configuration.

 90° Normal Bevel Opening Full Definition

The 90° Bevel Opening is created by cutting a 90° Right Angle into the matboard. The matboard core is not visible from the front.

The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut.

Select Normal Bevel or Normal Bevel-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit this configuration.

 How to Adjust the Configurations

When adjusting Configurations, click the Plus (Increase) or Minus (Decrease) button on the desired field about five times.

Click OK and do another test cut.

Continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved.

 90° Bevel Drop Full Definition

The 90° Bevel Drop is created by cutting a 90° Right Angle into the matboard. The matboard core is not visible from the front.

The Drop is one of the categories within certain opening styles, like the initial section cut of an Open V-Groove. However, it cannot be chosen as a standalone bevel type within Designer.

The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut.

Select Normal Drop or Normal Drop-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit this configuration.

 90° Bevel Outside Full Definition

The 90° Bevel Outside is created by cutting a 90° Right Angle into the matboard. The matboard core is not visible from the front.

The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut.

Select Outside or Outside-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit this configuration.

 90° Normal Bevel Open V-Groove Full Definition

The 90° Open V-Groove involves two symmetrical cuts: one in the fallout and a corresponding cut in the matboard, both forming a mirrored arrangement a specified distance apart. The matboard core is not visible but the lower layer matboard is visible from the front.

First Cut: Cuts the Interior cut into the Fallout Clockwise: 90 Degree Bevel Drop*.

Second Cut: Cuts the Exterior cut into the Matboard Counter-Clockwise: 90 Degree Bevel Opening.

*The Drop is one of the categories within certain opening styles, like the initial section cut of an Open V-Groove. However, it cannot be chosen as a standalone bevel type within Designer.

Select Normal Drop or Normal Drop-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit the interior cut configuration.

Select Normal Bevel or Normal Bevel-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit the exterior cut configuration.
