The Cut Preview is where to go to cut your design on your CMC. This User Guide is designed to walk you through the various functions and explain the different features of the Cut Preview screen. | |
Click on Cut Mat button on the MatDesigner editor to go to the cut preview. | |
If design is complicated, converting layers screen may display briefly. | |
The mat is displayed on the cut preview. |
Nesting | |
---|---|
Nesting allows placement of mats within fall-outs of other mats for matboard optimization. Click Nesting to load current design into nesting. | |
If current mat is not saved, user is prompted to save the mat. Only saved mats can be loaded into nesting. See Nesting Manual for more information. |
PathTrace | |
---|---|
PathTrace contains tools to alter the mat design, change bevel type, change cutting order, and much more. Click PathTrace to load current design into PathTrace. | |
Prompt to save current design is displayed. If this design is complicated, saving it is recommended. Click Yes to save design. Click No to skip saving design. Click Cancel to cancel bringing design into PathTrace. Select Do not ask me again to cancel further prompts to save mats before entering PathTrace. See PathTrace Manual for more information. |
Back | |

Click Back to return to last screen accessed. If started from editor, Back returns to editor. If started from new openings screen, Back returns to new openings screen. If started from load saved mat screen, Back returns to load saved mat screen. |
Quit | |
---|---|
Click Quit to return to main screen. If mat has not been saved, user will be prompted to save the mat before closing. |
Cut from Front/Back Indicator | |
---|---|
Cut preview screen indicates if current layer will cut from front or back of the mat. This is important to determine the direction to place matboard into the CMC to be cut. Back means to cut from back of mat. Place back of mat toward user, facing away from CMC. | |
Front means to cut from front of mat. Place front of mat toward user, facing away from CMC. |
