Laying Out Templates to Make a Special Shape

You can create your design in MatDesigner by bringing over different template shapes, overlapping them, then merging them together to create an opening.

As an example, bring in a rectangle to create the body of the design. Now bring over a smaller rectangle and place in the corner, overlapping the larger rectangle. Bring over a duplicate rectangle and place in the other corner, overlapping it to the larger rectangle.

Select all of the openings, then Right-Click on them and select Group Selection.

This will merge the openings together and create one opening. If they do not merge as expected, Right-Click and select UnGroup Selection and reposition the objects as desired then regroup them.

You can also then bring this design into PathTrace to edit as desired, which is often times easier than trying to design a shape from scratch.
