Design in FrameShop then bring into Trace

This lesson shows how to combine two templates to make a different design.

Place a 10x10" #102 Oval template on the FrameShop editor. 

Click on the Properties tab.

Change it to four layers. 

Change the layer reveals. The large reveal will be the padding between the objects in the finished piece.

  • Layer 3 is .25 reveal

  • Layer 2 is 1” reveal.

  • Layer 1 is .25” reveal.

Place an 11x11" #408 Imperial template on the FrameShop editor on top of the circle.

Click on the Properties tab.

Change it to four layers.

Change the layer reveals. The large reveal will be the padding between the objects in the finished piece.

  • Layer 3 is .25 reveal

  • Layer 2 is 1” reveal.

  • Layer 1 is .25” reveal.

Make sure that the Imperial opening is centered over the Circle. Hit PgDn/PgUp to cycle back to the circle to adjust its position if necessary.

Bring the design into Trace via the Right-Click Menu* or from the Cut Preview Screen.

*If you use the right-click method, hold down the CTRL key and select both openings before selecting Convert to CutArt

Break all Intersections

Click Edit > Break all Intersections.

The intersections are now broken where the elements crossed over each other.

Join Segments

Click the Edit radio button.

Hold down the CTRL key and click on each segment making up the upper left-hand inner section.
