General Defaults

  • The Defaults section sets the global settings to be used throughout the software.

  • Click Application Defaults in the Admin section of the Main Screen.

  • The Defaults screen will open to the Defaults tab.

Mat Defaults

Edit Opening Size First

  • Select Edit Opening Size First to display the Opening Size field first.

  • Unselect Edit Opening Size First to display the Outside Size field first.

Layer Direction

  • Select the default Layer Direction for Designing and Cutting.

  • Select Bottom Up to design from the bottom layer up.

  • Select Top Down to design from the top layer down.

Borders Order        

  • Select Bottom Top Sides to display the Border fields as Bottom, Top, then Sides.

  • Select Top Sides Bottom to display the Border fields as Top, Sides, then Bottom.

 Border Definition

The Border is the area of precisely definable width between the outside edge of a Mat and the edge of the Opening(s) in the Design Editor, Nesting, and Visualization.

Reveals Defaults

  • The top layer is labeled Top on the Properties tab..

 Reveal Definition

In a two-layer design, the Reveal is the amount of the bottom matboard showing under the top mat in the Design Editor and Visualize.

The standard Reveal between the top and bottom mat is 1/4".

Screens

  • Set the default size of the FrameShop software screens.

  • Select Auto Maximize* to always maximize the screens to full size.

  • Select Remember Previous Size* to use the previous screen size.

*Note: Depending on your monitor size and screen settings, some features may be hidden if the display is not set to display full screen, especially on the Cut Preview Screen.

Standard Sizes

  • Set the default sizes available for the Openings, Outside and Sheet from the Sizes button drop-down control.

  • Size Category

    • Select the Opening/Outer/Sheet Sizes category and Insert, Remove or Update the entries on this list.

 Sizes Button Definition

The Sizes Button displays the Recent and Standard sizes. 

Recent lists the last ten sizes entered.

Standard lists Standard sizes associated with the current unit of measurement.

Images

Get Scale on File Load

  • Select Get Scale on File Load to prompt for image scale when loading an image.

  • Unselect Get Scale on File Load to load the image without a prompting for the image scale.

 Visualization Definition

The Visualize software allows the user to create a digitally finished product using the selected frames, matboards and the artwork.

This makes it easy to present several different variations of the design for the customer to pick from.

Limit Image Size

  • Select Limit Image Size and enter the Max Dimension of the image file size.

  • Unselect Limit Image Size to allow any image size to be loaded.

  • Note: Large images will slow the software down.
