Grouped Merged Objects Properties

  • Use the Grouped Objects Properties to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for the grouped objects.

Selecting a Group of Openings and Merging Them

  • Grouping a selection of openings will treat the openings as one object. Any overlapping sections sharing the same bevel type will merge together.

How to Select the Openings

  • To select objects, click and Draw a Box around the desired group of objects.

  • Click Advanced Tab.

  • Click Group Selection.

  • Optionally, hold down the Shift or CTRL key and click on each object with the mouse to select them.

  • For Additional Information:

  • Select the desired objects and click on the Group Selection button in the Advanced tab.

  • Select the desired objects and click on the Group Openings button in the Tools section.

  • Select the desired objects and Right-Click select Group Selection.

 Group Selection/Merge Openings Definitions

The Group Selection button will combine the Group of Selected Objects to form a single entity.

Any overlapping sections sharing the same Bevel Type will Merge together, removing the interior sections that are not part of the new continuous sequence around the outside edge of the combined objects.

  • The openings with be grouped together and are now a single object.

  • Any overlapping parts sharing the same bevel type will merge together.

Ungroup Selection

  • The Merged Objects section allows the user to ungroup the currently grouped and merged objects.

  • The Ungroup Selection button ungroups and unmerges previously grouped and merged objects.

  • Ungrouped objects will also be unmerged from their merged state.

Dimensions

  • Enter the desired Width. The Grouped design will change to the new Width.

  • Enter the desired Height. The Grouped design will change to the new Height.

 Sizes Button Definition

The Sizes Button displays the Recent and Standard sizes. 

Recent lists the last ten sizes entered.

Standard lists Standard sizes associated with the current unit of measurement.

 Swap Button Definition

The Swap button switches values between the width/height fields.

Lock or Unlock Size

  • Lock the size of the object to avoid adjusting it when dragging the mouse.

  • Click unlock to Lock the size of the current object. 

  • Click locked to Unlock the size of the current object.

 Lock Object Size Definition

Use the Lock/Unlock feature to prevent the size of the opening from being changed by accidentally dragging the control corners with the mouse in Designer.

X and Y Position Fields

  • Enter the new X Position to move the selected object Horizontally.

  • Enter the new Y Position to move the selected object Vertically.

 X Position Definition

The X Position field is used to set or display the Horizontal position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview. 

 Y Position Definition

The Y Position field is used to set or display the Vertical position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview. 

 

Rotation Entry Field 

  • Enter the desired Degree of Rotation* for the selected object.

  • The selected object will pivot from the center point.  


 Rotation Definition

The Rotation function in Designer is the action of rotating the selected object(s) around an axis or center by the specified number of degrees.

Merge Paths

  • The Merge Paths checkbox merges any overlapped openings into one opening.

  • Click Merge Paths to merge any overlapping openings.

  • Uncheck Merge Paths to group any overlapped openings but does not merge them. 

  • This is useful if the user wants to bring the overlapped openings into Trace to manually merge them as desired.

  • The objects contained within this merged object is listed in the Openings panel.

  • If you add another object and merge it with the existing merged object, the new object will be listed as part of a new merged object.
