Take Picture

  • Click the Take Picture button to open the Camera Capture screen where you can take a picture from a camera or twain device attached to your computer.

Select Camera

  • On the Camera Capture screen, select the desired camera from the camera dropdown control if there is more than one selection. 

Options

  • Click Options on the Camera Capture screen to view the options for the camera selected. 

Rotate Image 180 Degrees

  • Select Options > Rotate Image 180 Degrees to rotate the image 180 Degrees.

  • Click Take Picture on the Camera Capture Screen to take the picture with this setting and it will rotate the image 180 degrees before placing it on the editor.

 Rotation Definition

Rotation is the action of rotating an object around an axis or center.

Image Resolutions

  • Select Options > Image Resolutions > Select Desired Resolution to set the resolution size for the image you are taking.

  • Click Take Picture on the Camera Capture Screen to take the picture with this setting.

Zoom Level

  • If the selected camera has a electronic zoom capability, the zoom slider will be available. 

  • Note that a fixed focal length lens or a manual zoom is not an electronic zoom function.

  • Slide the zoom control until you are satisfied with the preview display.

    • Move slider right to zoom in

    • Move slider left to zoom out

  • After zooming in, you can click on the scrollbars to move the focus of the camera.

Color profiles are only necessary for cameras without an auto white balance, such as the Wink Camera.

Using a Color Profile With the Camera

NOTE: Color profiles are applied to the image on the Visualize Editor – the color profiles are not applied to the camera capture preview screen.

Manually Setting the Color Adjustments Manually

  • Instead of using a color profile, you also have the option of adjusting the image manually.

  • To adjust the camera settings manually, have Use Color Profile unchecked. 

  • Move the sliders for the individual settings before taking the photo. Any unavailable webcam settings for your particular camera are grayed out.

Wink Camera Manual Settings 

  • These are the manual settings available for the Wink camera.

  • If a setting is not available for the current camera, it will be grayed out.

Brightness

  • Move the Brightness slider to the right to make the image brighter. Move the Brightness slider to the left to make the image darker.

Contrast

  • Contrast is the difference in brightness between the light and dark areas of the picture. Move the Contrast slider to the right to increase the contrast. Move the Contrast slider to the left to decrease the contrast.

Saturation

  • Saturation is the vividness of a color’s hue. Saturation measures the degree to which a color differs from a gray of the same darkness or lightness. Move the Saturation slider to the right to increase the saturation (brighter colors). Move the Saturation slider to the left to decrease the saturation (more black and white and lesser colors).

Gamma

  • Gamma is the numerical value of the slope of the characteristic curve of a photographic emulsion; a measure of the contrast reproduced in a photographic image. Move the Gamma slider to the right to increase the gamma. Move the Gamma slider to the left to decrease the gamma.

White Balance - Wizard

  • White balance refers to the adjustment of the relative amounts of red, green, and blue primary colors in an image such that neutral colors are reproduced correctly. Move the White Balance slider to the right to increase the white balance. Move the White Balance slider to the left to decrease the white balance.

Exposure

  • Exposure is the amount of radiant energy needed to expose a photographic film. Move the Exposure slider to the right to increase the exposure. Move the Exposure slider to the left to decrease the exposure.

Select Wizard Wink Camera in the Admin > Editor section to display the Wink Camera Settings within Visualization.

Canon Camera Manual Settings

  • These are the manual settings available for the Canon camera.

White Balance

  • White balance refers to the adjustment of the relative amounts of red, green, and blue primary colors in an image such that neutral colors are reproduced correctly. 

  • Select the desired white balance from drop-down control.

Exposure Compensation

  • Exposure compensation is a technique for adjusting the exposure indicated in consideration of various lighting factors that may cause the indicated exposure to result in a less-than-optimal image. Select the value desired for the camera.

Metering Mode

  • Metering Mode allows the user to select the most appropriate one for use in a variety of lighting conditions. Select the appropriate metering mode from the drop-down control.

ISO Speed

  • ISO Speed ratings of a digital camera are based on the properties of the sensor and the image processing done in the camera. Select the ISO speed for the camera.

Take Picture

  • Click the Take Picture button to take the picture with the current camera and selected settings. 

  • The image is displayed in the Visualize Editor screen.
