Cartridges Involved

This Configuration element involves the following Cartridges.

  • Note: Not all cartridges are available for all CMC models.

Pen Cartridge Configurations

  • The Pen Cartridge draws onto the matboard with the selected pen.

  • This is viewed from the front of the mat.

Pen Tab

  • Select the Pen Tab.

  • Select the specific Pen to edit from the Cartridge dropdown control.

  • Note that each pen has its own set of configurations.

  • Below is a list of support documentation for editing the configurations of the Pen Cartridge on the Pen Tab.

  • Pens 1-9

Pen is Applied to the Wrong Place Horizontally 

Problem:

The Pen is Applied to the Wrong Place Horizontally.

 Horizontal Adjustment Definition

The Horizontal Adjustment controls where the Deboss is placed Horizontally.

Resolution:

  • If too far left, increase the Pen Horizontal Adjustment.

  • If too far right, decrease the Pen Horizontal Adjustment.

  • See Pen Horizontal Adjustment for additional information.

Pen is Applied to the Wrong Place Vertically 

Problem:

  • The Pen is Applied to the Wrong Place Vertically.

 Vertical Adjustment Definition

The Vertical Adjustment controls specifically where the Deboss is placed Vertically.

Resolution:

  • If too far down, increase the Pen Vertical Adjustment.

  • If too far up, decrease the Pen Vertical Adjustment.

Pen is the Wrong Size

Problem:

  • The Pen is the Wrong Size.

 Opening Adjustment Definition

The Opening Adjustment controls the size of the opening.

Resolution:

  • If cut too small, increase the Pen Opening Adjustment.

  • If cut too large, decrease the Pen Opening Adjustment.

Pen Applied at the Wrong Depth

Problem:

  • The Pen is Applied at the Wrong Depth.

 Depth Setting Definition

The Depth Setting calculates the proper Blade Depth.

Resolution:

  • Cut too shallow, increase the Pen Depth Settings.

  • Cut too deep, decrease the Pen Depth Settings.

  • See Pen Depth Setting for additional information.

Pen Cartridge Tears the Mat

Problem:

  • The Pen Cartridge Tears the Mat.

 Corner Pause Definition

The Corner Pause controls the amount of time, in milliseconds, to pause the application of the non-blade tools in the corners to avoid tearing the mat.

Resolution:

Pen Lines are too Long

Problem:

  • The Pen Lines are drawn too Long.

 Overshoot Definition

The Overshoot controls how far past each segment the non-blade tool is applied.

Resolution:

  • Decrease the Pen Overshoot.

  • See Pen Overshoot for additional information.

Pen Lines are too Short 

Problem:

  • The Pen lines are drawn Short.

 Overshoot Definition

The Overshoot controls how far past each segment the non-blade tool is applied.

Resolution:

  • Increase the Pen Overshoot.

Set Pen to Plunge Between Pen Line Segments

Problem:

  • Set the Pen to Plunge Between Pen Line Segments.

 Plunge Definition

The Plunge controls whether to Plunge/Unplunge between segments of an object when applying a non-blade tool.

Resolution:

  • Select Plunge to plunge the Pen between Segments.

Problem:

  • How to Calibrate Different Pens.

 Install Pen Definition

The Install Pen utility will walk through calibrating for different pens.

Resolution:

  • Use the Install Pen utility to calibrate different pens.
