Layers

The Layers section displays the mat layers of the project, with the currently selected layer highlighted. The Top mat layer is always displayed at the top of the Layers list.

Layer Direction

Take note that the Layer Direction of Bottom Up or Top Down controls how the mat layers are numbered in Trace.

The Layer Direction can be set in the Admin screen on the Defaults section.

Layer Direction: Top Down

The Top mat layer is always displayed at the top of the Layers list.

Layer direction Top Down counts down from the top mat. The top mat is labeled layer 1, and the next layer down is labeled layer 2, and in this example, the bottom mat is labeled as layer 3.

Layer Direction: Bottom Up

The Top mat layer is always displayed at the top of the Layers list.

Layer direction Bottom Up counts up from the bottom mat. The bottom mat is labeled layer 1, and the next layer up is labeled layer 2, and in this example, the top mat is labeled 3.

Set the Default for the Layer Direction

Set the defaults for the Layer Direction in the Admin > Defaults section.

Current Layer

The current layer is highlighted.

To select a different layer, click on the associated layer number in the layer section.
