Editing the Exterior Backup on Creases

The Exterior Backup controls where the Blade Plunges into the Matboard (not the Fallout) on the Exterior cut. The Exterior Backup field is marked with a Green Arrow on the Configuration screen and the Map illustration. If the Exterior Backup is cut Too Short, it can leave a Hook in the corner. If the Exterior Backup is cut Too Long, Decrease the Exterior Backup. If the Exterior Backup is cut Too Short, Increase the Exterior Backup. |
Selecting the Crease Exterior Backup in the Configurations
Select Crease Cartridge Tab.
Select the Crease from Current Bevel Type.
Edit the Exterior Backup field.

Select Current Bevel Type-Front of Mat when cutting from the front of the mat. *The different Opening Bevel Types, including whether it is cutting from the Front or Back, controls the cut direction of the Head, and determines whether the cut is a Backup or an Overcut. |

When adjusting Configurations, click the Plus (Increase) or Minus (Decrease) button on the desired field about five times. Click OK and do another test cut. Continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved. |
