Measure a Piece of Art

Measure a piece of art taken with the camera to make sure that the scale is set correctly, so that art and moulding will display proportionally correct.

Click the Take Picturebutton.

Position a piece of art under the camera and center it in the field of view.

Click Take Picture.

Click on the Art Regions Tab.

Click Add New Art Region button.

Draw a selection box around the art.

The dimensions of the image displays on the Selected Region width and height boxes.

The dimensions of the image should be correct, within approximately 1/8 inches. If the dimensions are correct and the image still appears “square,” then the camera is calibrated at this specific fixed zoom point.

Calibration Complete

The camera is now calibrated and will remain calibrated as long as the camera is not physically moved. If the camera mount is moved, the entire procedure must be repeated. When saving a project to the database or to a file, the scale setting is saved with the project. Thus, if using different zoom points and recalling a project from storage may require the scale to be set again for the next new project started. For fixed zoom, the software only remembers one scale value and that value will be changed when loading a prior project from storage.
