If the plane of the blade was exactly parallel to the cut, the beginning of every cut would curve. To compensate, the foot block is rotated so that the beginning of the cut is straight. Matboard density can also effects these curves, and the user may need a higher rotation setting for more dense matboards than for softer ones. |
