Cartridges Involved
This Configuration element involves the following Cartridges.
Note: Not all cartridges are available for all CMC models.
Oval Rotation Definition
The Oval Rotation field controls how much the foot block will rotate before cutting.
Adjust the Oval Rotationif you are getting Bumpsor Featherson an oval opening.If you have too much rotation on an oval opening, you will get a Feather, too little and you will get a Bump.
Increase the Oval Rotation if the object has a Bump.
Decrease the Oval Rotation if the object has a Feather.
Current Bevel Type
Select the desired Cartridge Type Tab and then the bevel type you want to edit from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control before making adjustments.
Select Current Bevel Type-Front of Mat if it is being cut from the front of the mat.
Degrees of Rotation for Oval Openings
In Oval Rotation, eight points equals one degree of rotation.
Users usually make adjustments 4 points at a time.
Increase the Oval Rotation to turn the foot block clockwise to correct for a Bump.
Decrease the Oval Rotation to turn the foot block counterclockwise to correct for a Feather.
Problem: Oval Opening has a Bump
Problem:
The blade returns to the outside of the starting point of an oval opening, creating a bump in the oval.
Resolution:
Increase the Oval Rotation.
When making adjustments, click the plus button (+) at the end of the desired field about five or six times.
Click OK and do a test cut.
Check the results of the cut and continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved.
The object will now cut correctly.
Problem: Oval Opening has a Feather
Problem:
The blade returns to the inside of the starting point of an oval opening, creating a feather in the oval.
Resolution:
Decrease the Oval Rotation.
When making adjustments, click the minus button (-) at the end of the desired field about five or six times.
Click OK and do a test cut.
Check the results of the cut and continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved.
The object will now cut correctly.
Circle/Oval Rotation Utility
Optionally, use the Circle/Oval Rotation Utility to fine-tune specific sizes of circles/ovals.
