The Backing Boards are Two Sheets of matboard placed on the CMC behind the sheet of matboard being cut.

Cut Preview screen indicates that the current layer is to be cut from the Front of the mat, this also determines how to place the matboard onto the CMC.

  • Have Two Layers of adequate size of disposable matboard under the Mat to be Cut; a Layer can be temporarily removed when cutting thicker matboard.

  • Place the matboard into the left corner of the CMC, making sure that the matboard nestles tightly into the Horizontal and Vertical Clamps.

Cutting From the Front will cut with the face of the mat toward the operator, and can be selected on the Cutting Preview or by cutting a Cut-From-Front element such as a Deboss or V-Groove.
