Using the #111: Quad Template to Make Four Corner Samples at Once |
---|
Optionally, you could use the #111: Quad template to make four Corner Samples at once. Set the outside size as indicated above and place the #111: Quad template on the editor and set the size. Click on the Quad tab and select the desired templates.
| |
Follow the steps above to bring the design into Trace and break it up into four quadrants. Instead of erasing the sections of the design, we will be moving them to space them apart from another. Change the Design Bounds to make space for these new openings.
| |
Now select the elements that make up the first Corner Sample, including the vertical/horizontal line that divides it from the next Corner Sample. Hit Ctrl+C to copy this selection. Move your cursor up to an empty position on the screen and hit Ctrl+V to paste it.
| |
Do the same with the upper right Corner Sample. After pasting it, keep it selected. Select Horizontal for the direction and click the Flip button. The second Corner Sample is now oriented into the correct direction.
| |
Do the same with the other two corners, Flipping them either horizontally or vertically so that all of the Corner Samples are oriented in the same direction. Adjust the Design Bounds as necessary if you run out of space.
| |
| |
Now we are going to save it as a Path. This will allow us to Trace and then Save one of the Corner Samples, then just load the Path to do the next one. Click File > Save As and click the Path filetype. Give it a filename and click Save.
| |
Click on the Set Bevels Tab. Click on the opening; it will turn white. Select the desired bevel type (i.e., 45° Bevel) and click the Set button next to that bevel type. The opening will turn the color of the bevel type selected.

Click on the outside; it will turn white. Since there is no “outside” bevel type in Trace, select 90° Opening and Save each click the Set button. The outside will turn the color of the bevel type selected.
