Troubleshooting the Backup/Overcut Display

  • Have a cut design displayed on the Cut Preview.

  • Note that this feature is only available for the Bladed Cartridges.

  • Using one of the Zoom buttons, zoom in to the desired section of the project where you are having issues cutting.

  • Make sure that the Green Backups and Red Overcuts lines are visible.

titleExterior Backup Definition

The Exterior Backup controls where the Blade Plunges into the Matboard on the Exterior cuts of Openings. The initial plunge position is determined by the bevel type.

The Exterior Cut is where the Blade Plunges or Retracts from the Matboard (not the Fallout).    

If the Exterior Backup is leaving a Hook in the corner, Increase the Exterior Backup.

If the Exterior Backup is cut Too Long, Decrease the Exterior Backup.

If the Exterior Backup is cut Too Short, Increase the Exterior Backup.

The Exterior Backup field is marked with a Green Arrow on the Configuration screen and the Map illustration.

If the Interior Overcut is cut Too Long, Decreasethe Interior Overcut.

If the Interior Overcut is cut Too Short, Increase the Interior Overcut.

  • With the cursor hovering over one of the Backups or Overcuts, the Status Bar displays the actual physical length of the selected Backup or Overcut.

  • This value will be the Sum of the corresponding User Configuration setting and the Factory Configuration setting.

  • The cursor will turn into an arrow with a question mark.

  • Click on the desired Overcut or Backup line that you are having trouble with.

Tip
  • The Configuration screen will open to the appropriate Cartridge Tab with the Configuration Field associated to the line clicked highlighted.

  • Now you can easily Increase or Decrease adjust the value displayed, depending upon whether the item selecting selected is cutting Too Short or cutting Too Long or .

    • Increase the value if the item is cutting Too Short.

    • Decrease the value if the item is cutting Too Long.

  • Click OK and recut the design.

  • Continue adjusting the Configurations until you achieve the desired result.

Tip
  • To adjust, click Plus/Minus on the desired field about five times.

  • Click OK and do another test cut.

  • Continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved.
