Enable Rail Dodge

Info

titleRail Dodge Definition

Rail Dodge moves the design up and over on the matboard to avoid the clamp area on the CMC 9000 and 8000 to overcome the border limitation of 1.5”/3.8cm when not cutting the outside.

  • Check the Enable Rail Dodge checkbox to use a Rail Dodge on CMC 9000 and 8000. This is similar to the Enable Auto Clamp Offset above.

  • A Rail Dodge is a small piece of matboard or other material used to position the pre-cut matboard up into the cutting area when using borders less than 1.5" and not cutting the outside.

  • Enter the distance to move the design in the X Origin field; the Y Origin field uses the same number value.

  • It will move the lower left corner of the design to the new X/Y position and it will display Dodge on the bottom of the screen.

Info

Note: The outside cut is shown here merely for visual reference of where the pre-cut matboard will be positioned on the board. This feature can also be used to move the design to avoid flaws in the matboard.

Disable Rail Dodge

Info
  • Disabling the Rail Dodge will now cut the designs normally without being offset up and over on the mat.
