Aligning the Head on the CMC Z (9000z)

The Cut Preview highlights in red any clamps that are in the way of the current cut sequence. These are the ones that will need to be rotated out of the way before you cut the mat.

When you click Cut, you will get a message displaying which clamps should be rotated. Rotate the indicated clamps as described below and click Continue.

Push the indicated clamp toward the board to release the pressure.

Rotate the indicated clamps so that they are facing away from the center of the board.

Make sure that the indicated clamps are facing away from the center of the board. When the clamps are engaged, they will be retracted flush with the board.

For the next cutting job, the clamps should be rotated back toward the center of the board to hold down the next mat.

Rotate the foot block into the 12 O’Clock position. Rotate the footblock with the blade cartridge on top of the head.

Holding it about an inch above the bottom rail, slide the gantry and the head assembly to the left edge of the CMC until it stops.

It will stop against the Magnetic Stop.

Then slide the head down until the footblock rests against the Head Alignment Stop.

Click the Align the Head button or the Cut button to finish the Align the Head sequence.

On the Alignment screen, make sure that the Pen, Vinyl and Creasing tools are not in the footblock.

Click Continue on the Alignment screen.

Head will align to the home position.

If you clicked the Align the Head button, the CMC is now aligned and ready to cut.

If you clicked the Cut button, the CMC will now begin to cut the mat.
