Pen Properties

Use the Pen Properties to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for the Pen objects.

Click on a Pen object and click on the Properties tabTab

Edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for Pen objects. 

Optionally, Right-Click on the Pen opening and select Edit to open the Pen Properties.

Pen Opening     

The Pen Opening section allows the user to enter a label to the current Pen object, or select a different template instead of the Pen. 

Label

Enter the desired text in the Label field which will be displayed on the Pen opening. 

This overwrites the default label displaying the opening size if toggled on in the Defaults or on the Editor Edit Menu

Change to Template

Click the Change to Template button to access the Template Library. 

Select a different template instead of the Pen object.  

To change the SHAPE of the Pen, see: Template Number and Name below.  

Set the Default for the Pen Cartridges

The default setting for the pen cartridges can be set in the Admin > Editor Editor section.

Calibrate the Pen Before Drawing

The Install Pen utility will calibrate each of your pens for use in the pen cartridge.

Dimensions

Use the Dimension Section to edit and/or lock the Pen object dimensions, set the X/Y positioning, or rotate the Pen object.

Width

Enter the Pen object Width dimension.

Height 

Enter the Pen object Height dimension. 

Sizes Button 

The Sizes button displays a list of Recent and Standard sizes. 

Swap Button

The Swap button switches the values between the width and height fields.

Lock or Unlock Size

Click the unlock icon toggle to Lock Lock the size of the current Pen opening. 

Conversely, click the locked icon toggle to Unlockthe size of the current Pen opening.

Rotation Entry Field

Enter the desired degree of rotation in the Rotation field.

The currently selected Pen will pivot from the center point.

To rotate a group of objects or to manually rotate an object, see Rotation on the Advanced Tab.

Pen Options

Use the Pen Options section to select a different template shape, make it a double-lined Pen, or attach it to an object or the outside mat.

Template Number and Name 

The Template Number and Name button displays the template number and name of the selected Pen shape.

Click the Template Number and Name button to open the Template Library. 

Select a different template SHAPE for the Pen. Templates not available for this function are not displayed.

Cartridge Selection and Type

Use the Cartridge and Type section to select the desired Cartridge and Cartridge Type for the particular layer of the object.

Cartridge Icon

Click on the Cartridge Icon and select the desired cartridge for the current Pen. 

Changing it to a non-Pen Cartridge will change the Pen to that Cartridge type; i.e., changing it from Pen 1 Cartridge to a 52 Degree Cartridge will make it a 52 Degree V-Groove opening. 

Cartridge Type

When applicable, select the desired cartridge type from the Type dropdown control. 

Selections available are dependent upon the type of Cartridge tool selected.

Pen Color

The selected pen's color is displayed in the Color field. 

Pen Width

The selected pen's display width is displayed in the Width field.

This can be edited in the Admin section in the Editor Tab under Pen Defaults.

Template Options Parameters Tab

The Template Options Parameters tab allows editing of the template parameter attributes of the selected template shape.

Template Options Parameters

These attributes are directly related to the specific template selected. 

Edit each parameter as desired; the design changes immediately to reflect the parameter adjustments.

Template Parameter Map

Click on the Template Parameter Map button (displayed as [?]) on the Parameters tab.

The template map will open and describes what each parameter field adjusts for the current template.
