Clear Partial Image Bounds

When Vectorizing an image, you can either Vectorize the entire image or just a portion of it.

Clear Partial Image Bounds will clear out the Bounding Rectangle drawn to vectorize a part of the image.

Raster to Vector Definition

Raster to Vector is the process of taking a Raster image and converting it into a Vector to edit in Designer and Trace.

A Raster is a Bitmap image (JPEG, PNG, GIF, etc.) that is made up of a grid of Pixels, such as a photograph.

A Vector is a drawn graphic path which is defined by a Start and End point, which may contain other Points, Curves, and Angles, drawn in Trace.

Bounding Rectangle Definition

The Bounding Rectangle is a dotted or invisible rectangle that encompasses the outermost boundaries of the selected object(s) in Designer and Trace, and includes Control Points which can be used to edit the object.

Vectorizing a Portion of the Image
Load the Desired Image Load the desired image on the editor, either by Taking a Picture or Loading an Image File.
The image is loaded into the Trace editor.
Enter the desired Size for the image in the Design Bounds section. The image will resize. Design Bounds Definition The Design Bounds defines the canvas size of the current design in Trace. This controls both the Canvas Size for the current drawing and the Image Size for the currently loaded image. Enter the Design Bounds before beginning your design. See: Design Bounds Function
Draw a box around the section you wish to vectorize (create the Bounding Rectangle). Click the Vectorize button. The Bounding Rectangle selection of the image will be vectorized. Clearing the Partial Image Bounds
Have the image with the selection Bounding Rectangle on the screen. Bounding Rectangle Definition The Bounding Rectangle is a dotted or invisible rectangle that encompasses the outermost boundaries of the selected object(s) in Designer and Trace, and includes Control Points which can be used to edit the object. Click the Clear Partial Image Bounds button.
The selection Bounding Rectangle is removed. You can either select a different portion to vectorize or vectorize the entire image.
