Align the Head Button on the 9000/8000/8000 RC/8000+

  • Click the Align the Head button to Align the Head into the cutting position and power up the motors in preparation of cutting a mat.

  • Aligning the Head will only get the machine ready to cut, but not actually cut.

  • NOTE: The hardware photos below may slightly differ from your specific model but the steps are still the same.

Align the Head Button vs. the Cut Button

  • Optionally, if you click the Cut button when the motors are disengaged, it will prompt you to Align the Head.

  • After the Head is Aligned, it will then Cut the mat.

Aligning the Head on the CMC 9000/8000/8000 RC/8000+ When Motors are Disengaged

  • Rotate the Footblock into the 12 O’Clock position. 

  • Holding it about an inch above the bottom rail, slide the Gantry and the Head assembly to the left edge of the CMC until it stops. 

  • It will stop against the Magnetic Stop.

  • Then slide the Head down until the Footblock rests against the Head Alignment Stop.

  • Click the Align the Head button or click the Cut button to finish the Align the Head sequence.

  • Click Continue on the Align the Head screen.

  • Head will align to the Home position.

  • If you clicked the Align the Head button, the CMC is now aligned and ready to cut.

  • If you clicked the Cut button, the CMC will now begin to cut the mat.

  • Use the Disengage button to cut the power to the motors of the cutting Head.

  • Click the Disengage button to disengage power to the motors of the cutting Head on the CMC. 

  • User will be prompted to Click OK to release the motors.

  • Grasp the Head and then Click OK

  • The motors will be disengaged and the Head will drop. When the motors are disengaged, the Head and the Gantry can be moved freely by hand.

  • The Head will need to be Aligned again before the next mat is cut.
