Add the #108 Reserved Area to the Editor

The #108 Reserved Area places a rectangular area to be reserved but not cut, for placing objects when designing a mat.

This template has no Reveals nor Parameters.

Templates are specialized parametric shape generators within Wizard's FrameShop software.

This example shows one opening with the #108 Reserved Area placed beneath it. The Reserved Area template does not cut but it used as a placeholder for objects you are placing in the design.

Template Properties

  • Place the #108 Reserved Area template onto the Editor.

  • Click on the #108 Reserved Area on the Editor.

  • Click on the Properties Tab to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for this template opening.

  • Optionally, Right-Click on the template opening and select Edit to open the Template Properties.

Template Opening

The Template Opening section allows the user to select a different template, or add a label to the current template.

Style

  • The Style button displays the current Template Name and Number button.  

Template Name and Number

  • Click the Template Number and Name button in the Style field,

  • Select a different template from the Template Library to replace the current template.

Label

  • Enter the desired text in the Label field which will be displayed on the Template opening. 

  • This overwrites the default label displaying the opening size if toggled on in the Defaults or on the Editor Edit Menu. 

Set the Default to Auto Label Multi Openings

The default setting to Auto Label Multi Openings can be set in the Admin > Editor section.

Dimensions

Use the Dimensions Section to edit and/or lock the template object dimensions, set the X/Y positioning, or rotate the Template.

  • Width: Enter the template Width dimension. 

  • Height: Enter the template Height dimension. 

  • Sizes Button: The Sizes button displays a list of Recent and Standard sizes. 

  • Swap Button: The Swap button switches the values between the width and height fields.

Set the Default Sizes for the Sizes Dropdown Control

The default setting for the Sizes dropdown control can be set in the Admin > Defaults section.

Set the Default Size for the Outside and Opening Size

The default setting for the Outside and Opening Size can be set in the Admin > Editor section.

Lock or Unlock Size

  • Click the unlock icon toggle to Lock the size of the current template opening. 

  • Click the locked icon toggle to Unlock the size of the current template opening.

X and Y Position Fields

X (Position Field)

The X Position field is used to manually set the horizontal position of the selected template object (lines shown for illustration). 

  • Enter the new X Position to move the currently selected openings.

Y (Position Field)

The Y Position field is used to manually set the vertical position of the selected template object (lines shown for illustration). 

  • Enter the new Y Position to move the currently selected openings.

Rotation Entry Field

  • Enter the desired degree of rotation in the Rotation* field.

  • The currently selected Template will pivot from the center point.

*To lock a group of template objects together before rotating them as one object, see Group Openings Button and then use the Rotate field under the Merged Object Properties, or the Rotation button on the Advanced Tab.
