Outside Cut Options

Use the Outside Cut Options dropdown control to select several setting that dictate how the outside of the mat is cut on the CMC 9000z.

For the outside cut options for a non-CMC 9000z, see Cut the Outside.

Outside Cut Options

Select the desired outside cut option from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control.

The setting selected for the outside cut will be used on the next mat cut.

Not Cutting the Outside

Select Off from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control to not cut the outside of the mat.

Select Off from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control.

The outside of the mat will not be cut.

Cut the Outside as a Shared Edge

Select Shared Edge from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control to cut the shared edges of the outside cuts.

Select Shared Edge from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control to cut the shared edges of the outside cuts as one stroke between the designs instead of cutting the outside of each mat individually.

If cutting a single design, it will cut only the top and right lines of the outside cut, using the factory edge for the left and bottom edges of the mat, thus not wasting any matboard since the 9000z can cut right to the edges.

If cutting a tiled mat, this will cut the outside shared lines between designs as one cut, rather than cutting each design's outside edge individually.

When Tiling, make sure that the Spacing under the Setup Tab is set to zero (0) so that each design shares the outside lines with the next design, so it will only cut the single line between them.

If you have Remnant Trimming on, it will also cut off the scrap edge.

Cut the Full Outside Edge

Select Full from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control to cut the full outside edges of the design.

Select Full from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control to cut the complete outside edge of the design.

When tiling mats, it will cut out the complete outside edge of each design.

If you have Remnant Trimming on, it will also cut off the scrap edge.

Cut the Outside As Designed

Select As Designed from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control to cut the outside edges of the design as they were designed.

Select As Designed from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control to cut the outside as originally designed.

This can be helpful when coming from Trace or Nesting where you have already determined how you want the outside to be cut.

If you have Remnant Trimming on, it will also cut off the scrap edge.

Advanced Outside Options

Set the Cut Mode under the Set Advanced Options to select how the outside cut will be cut.

Optionally, click Set Advanced Options to access the Advanced Outside Cut Options.

Set the desired Cut Mode to select how the outside cut will be cut. These match the Outside Cut Options described above.

The selected Cut Mode will be used until a different option is selected.

Set the Default for Cutting the Outside

The default setting for Cutting the Outside can be set in the Admin > Editor section.

Set the Default for 90 Degree Outside Cut

Enable Auto Clamp Offset

Select Enable Auto Clamp Offset checkbox to move the design up and over on the matboard to avoid the clamp area on the CMC 9000z, similar to the Rail Dodge.

Check the Enable Auto Clamp Offset checkbox.

Enter the distance to move the design in the X Origin field; the Y Origin field uses the same number value.

The design will move up and over the distance entered.

This feature is also turned on by selecting Full from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control.

Disable Auto Clamp Offset

Disabling the Auto Clamp Offset will now cut the designs normally without being offset up and over on the mat.

Uncheck the Auto Clamp Offset checkbox.

The design will no longer be offset on the CMC 9000z and cut the design normally.

Set the Default for the Enable Auto Clamp Offset

The default setting for the Enable Auto Clamp Offset can be set in the Admin > Cutting section.
