Removing the Left 90° Cartridge Footblock

  • Before you can change the blade on the 90° Footblock, you must remove it from the head. The 90° Blade Holder Footblock is located on the left and the 45°+ Blade Holder Footblock is located on the right.

  • You will use the Footblock Tool to remove the 90° Cartridge Footblock.

  • Use the Footblock Tool to remove the current 90° Cartridge Footblock, turning the screw counter-clockwise half a turn to loosen it.

  • Pull the current 90° Cartridge Footblock tool out from the Trolley.

Changing the 90° Blade

Changing the 90° Blade

  • Under no circumstance should the screws on the top sides of the 90° Blade Holder Footblock be tampered with.

Do Not Touch the Top Screws on the Footblock
  • Remove the foot by pulling it away from the blade holder Footblock; it is held in place by magnets.

Remove the Footblock Base from the Cartridge. It is Held in Place with Magnets
  • Set the 2.5mm Allen wrench inside the inset screw next to the blade and turn it counter-clockwise to release the blade about half a turn.

  • Carefully remove the old blade.

  • The blades are DBDH: Double Bevel, Double Hone.

Locate a New Blade
  • Drop the new blade in; the tip is toward the center - drop the blade in until it bottoms out.

  • Set the 2.5mm Allen wrench inside the inset screw next to the blade and turn it clockwise to secure the blade.

  • Replace the foot by setting it back into place and letting the magnets grab it.

  • Before reinstalling the 90° Blade Holder Footblock, drag it across a scrap piece of matboard.

  • There should be no mark. If scoring is evident, the blade is not fully seated.

Reinstall the Left 90° Cartridge Footblock

  • Reinsert the 90° Blade Holder Footblock into the Trolley.

  • Use the Footblock Tool to secure the 90° Cartridge Footblock into place, turning it clockwise half a turn to tighten it.

  • The tool is now ready to be used.
