ECU Hardware Installation: CMC 8000, 9000, Z Series, 8000RC and the 8000 Plus
This page provides instructions for installing the ECU hardware, which is a signal amplifier that controls the CMC.
Make sure to also install the Drivers to run it.
*WARNING: High voltage. No user serviceable parts inside the ECU.*
Connect ECU USB Cable to the matching port on the front of the ECU.
Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on the Computer.
If your system came with a USB hub, plug it in between the ECU and the Computer.
Connect the Power Supply Output Cable to the back of the ECU.
Connect the ECU Power Supply to the surge protector.
The Board Cable on all CMC models connects the Gantry on the CMC to the back of the ECU.
Connect the male end of the Board Cable to the back of the ECU by aligning the pins and turning the locking ring until it seats itself and locks into place.
DB9 Cable on the CMC Z1
If you have the CMC Z1, connect the DB9 cable to the ECU.
Connect the other end of the DB9 Cable to the Control Panel box on the back of the CMC Z1 board.
Locate the zip tie and slip it through the plastic mount attached to the back of the Board.
Take the excess DB9 Cable and loop it around a couple of times then use the zip tie to attach it to the plastic mount on the back of the Board.
The ECU is now connected.
