Outside Rotation

Outside Rotation

The Rotation field controls how much the Footblock will rotate before cutting. Adjust the Rotation if you are getting Swoops or Flares in the corners on a non-oval outside.

If you have too much Rotation on a non-oval outside you will get a Flare, too little rotation and you will get a Swoop

Twisted Corner

Twisted Corner

Twisted Corner is when the blade turns before retracting from the matboard, which tears the matboard and twists the corner which is especially visible on the back of the mat.

Check to make sure the Rotation hasn't been set to a high number.

Optionally, see the Clean the Footblock procedure for information on cleaning the Footblock.

Twisted corners can also be a symptom of oil/water in the Air Valve, or an issue with the Head. Check the Air Regulator for excess water.
