Exterior Overcut on Drops: FrameShop Configurations Screen
Exterior Overcut on Drops | |
---|---|
The Exterior Overcut is where the cut continues into the corner before retracting the blade from the matboard on the exterior cuts, such as when cutting a rectangle. Exterior Cuts cut into the matboard, not the fallout of the opening. | The Exterior Overcut Field Controls Where the Blade Continues into the Corner Before Retracting the Blade on the Exterior Cuts of Non-Oval Drops |
Current Drop Bevel Type | |
---|---|
Select the desired Cartridge Tab and then the bevel type you want to edit from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control before making adjustments. Select Current Bevel Type-Front of Mat if it is being cut from the front of the mat.

Red Arrow on the Configuration Map | |
---|---|
The Exterior Overcut is displayed on the Configuration Map and on the associated field as a red arrow. | |
Check against the Configuration Map of the Bevel Type you are cutting to determine specifically which cuts are the Exterior Overcuts. Exterior Cuts, such as rectangles, cut into the matboard, not the fallout of the opening. |
Drop Exterior Overcut Too Long | |
---|---|
This is viewed from the front of the mat. If the Exterior Overcuts retracts the blade too late, it makes the exterior overcut too long. | |
Decrease the Exterior Overcut. | |
The corners will now meet up properly. | |
When making adjustments, click either the minus or plus button (-/+) at the end of the desired field about five or six times in the direction indicated. Click OK and do a test cut. Check the results of the cut and continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved. |
Drop Exterior Overcut Too Short | |
---|---|
This is viewed from the front of the mat. If the Exterior Overcuts retracts the blade too soon, it makes the exterior overcut too short. | |
Increase the Exterior Overcut. | |
The corners will now meet up properly. | |
When making adjustments, click either the minus or plus button (-/+) at the end of the desired field about five or six times in the direction indicated. Click OK and do a test cut. Check the results of the cut and continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved. |
Drop Interior Overcuts | |
---|---|
This is viewed from the front of the mat. For Overcuts where the blade comes out of the fallout instead of the matboard, see Interior Overcut. |
