Curve Design Details

  • Click on a Curve to see the specific details about it.

Note: If you bring in the design from DesignerOffset the Arc and select the offset, or Convert Arcs to Splines, then clicking on the "Arc" will display Curve/Spline information. 

 Offset Definition

The Offset button creates a displacement copy of the selected object a parallel distance away as specified in the Offset Reveal field in Trace.

 Arcs Definition

The Arc Tool tool function allows you to draw a three-point mathematically defined curve in the Trace software.

The Arc has three points: the Initial Position and the Terminating Position (which are called "anchors") and one separate Middle point (which is called a "handle") which can be moved to change the shape of the Arc.

 Curve Tool Definition

The Curve function allows you to draw a four-point mathematically defined Bezier/Spline Curve in the Trace software.

The Bezier/Spline Curve is defined by four points: the Initial Position and the Terminating Position (which are called "Anchors") and two separate Middle Points (which are called "Handles"), which can be moved to alter the shape.

  • The Curve Design Details section displays information about the selected Curve.

 Curve Definition

Design Curve Details

Start X and Y 

  • Displays the Start X/Y Coordinates of the Curve’s start point when drawn.

    • If you clicked on the upper left and drew by dragging to the lower right, that would make the start point in the upper left corner. 

 X Position Definition

The X Position field is used to set or display the Horizontal position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview. 

 Y Position Definition

The Y Position field is used to set or display the Vertical position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview. 

 Curve Definition

The Curve function allows you to draw a four-point mathematically defined Bezier/Spline Curve in the Trace software.

Mid X1 and Y1 

  • Displays the first Mid Point X1 and Y1 Coordinates.

 X Position Definition

The X Position field is used to set or display the Horizontal position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview. 

 Y Position Definition

The Y Position field is used to set or display the Vertical position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview. 

Mid X2 and Y2 

  • Displays the second Mid Point X2 and Y2 Coordinates.

 X Position Definition

The X Position field is used to set or display the Horizontal position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview. 

 Y Position Definition

The Y Position field is used to set or display the Vertical position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview. 

End X and Y 

  • Displays the End Points X and Y Coordinates.

 X Position Definition

The X Position field is used to set or display the Horizontal position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview. 

 Y Position Definition

The Y Position field is used to set or display the Vertical position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview. 

Bevel Type 

 Bevel Type Definition

The Bevel Type is the Angle that the blade cuts on the Matboard/Fallout surface when it is not cut at a 90° Right Angle.

 Traced Definition

Tracing the Design provides the Bevel Type and other necessary information to the Vector design in order to either Cut or apply a Non-Blade Tool on the CMC.

The Set Bevels Tab in Trace contains the tools needed to Trace the design.

Layer 

  • Displays the Layer this object is assigned to if the object is Traced.

 Traced Definition

Tracing the Design provides the Bevel Type and other necessary information to the Vector design in order to either Cut or apply a Non-Blade Tool on the CMC.

The Set Bevels Tab in Trace contains the tools needed to Trace the design.
