How to Make a #703 or #704 Inset Rectangle With Additional Openings

  • This will walk you through creating a #703: Inset Rect R and #704: Inset Rect L and merging them together to create a single design.

  • Click New Mat Design on the FrameShop Main Page.

  • Click Cancel on the New Openings Screen.

  • On the Openings Tab, bring the template #704: Inset Rect L onto the Editor.

  • Click on the Properties Tab to edit it.

  • Enter the desired size for the #704: Inset Rect L opening.

    • Remember that we are going to merge the two halves together so keep that in mind when sizing the design.

  • Click on the Parameters Tab.

  • Adjust the Parameters as desired for the left side of this design.

  • On the Openings Tab, bring the template #703: Inset Rect R onto the Editor.

  • Click on the Properties Tab to edit it.

  • Enter the desired size for the #704: Inset Rect L opening.

    • Remember that we are going to merge the two halves together so keep that in mind when sizing the design.

  • Click on the Parameters Tab.

  • Adjust the Parameters as desired for the left side of this design.

  • Position the openings as desired, overlapping the center edges.

  • Make sure that both layers of the designs overlap.

    • If needed, go back and adjust the size of the openings and try overlapping again.

  • Select both openings and click the Group Selection button.

  • The two openings should merge where they overlapped.

  • If you need to make an adjustment to the design, click the Group Selection button to unmerge them, then click on the background to unselect them.

  • Re-edit as desired and then regroup them again.

  • The merged inset design is completed.

  • You can make a four corner Inset by copy/pasting the first two designs then Rotating them 180°.

  • Reposition them and edit the Parameters if desired and Merge them together
