How to Set up Plunge Count to Automatically Pause for a Blade Change

  • These instructions will show you how to set up the Plunge Count to automatically pause for a Blade Change.

  • The Plunge Count controls the number of Blade Plunges for each Blade Cartridge before pausing for a Blade Change.

  • Click New Mat Design on the FrameShop Main Page.

  • Create a simple 2x2 mat with 2” Borders on the New Openings Screen and click Send to CMC.

  • On the Cut Preview Screen, click the Configurations button.

  • The Configurations Screen will open.

  • Select the desired Blade Cartridge Tab.

  • All of the Bladed Cartridges have a Plunge Count field.

  • Enter the desired Plunge Count value.

  • Click OK.

  • Note: Start with a Plunge Count value of 40 and adjust as necessary for your particular situation.

  • Many factors can affect Blade Life, including the type of matboard, thickness of the matboard, impurities in the matboard, the type of openings being cut, etc.

  • On the Cut Preview Screen, make sure that the Plunge Count Toggle is On.

  • Now as you cut, the system will pause and will prompt for a Blade Change after the specified number of Plunges of the Blade.
