The #106 Mixed Template

 Template Definition

Templates are specialized parametric shape generators within Wizard's FrameShop software.

  • The #106 Mixed template allows the user to select a different template for each layer.

  • Use the Template Properties to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for the template objects.

  • This example shows the Mixed template using template 606 Arrow Hd Sm on the top layer and template 604 Taos on the bottom layer.

#106 Mixed Template Properties

  • Place the #106 Mixed template on the Editor.

  • Click on the #106 Mixed template on the Editor.

  • Click on the Properties Tab to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for this template opening.

  • Optionally, Right-Click on the template opening and select Edit to open the Template Properties.

Template Opening

The Template Opening section allows the user to select a different template, or add a label to the current template.

Style

  • The Style button displays the current Template Name and Number button.

Label

  • Enter the desired text in the Label field which will be displayed on the Template opening. 

Set the Default to Auto Label Multi Openings

 Default Setting to Auto Label Multi Openings

Set the default to Auto Label Multi Openings in the Admin > Editor section.

Dimensions

Use the Dimensions Section to edit and/or lock the template object dimensions, set the X/Y positioning, or rotate the Template.

  • Enter the template Width dimension. 

  • Enter the template Height dimension. 

 Sizes Button Definition

The Sizes Button displays the Recent and Standard sizes. 

 Swap Button Definition

The Swap Button switches the values between the width and height fields.

Set the Default Sizes for the Sizes Dropdown Control

Set the default for the Sizes dropdown control in the Admin > Defaults section.

Set the Default Size for the Outside and Opening Size

 Default Settings for the Default Outside and Opening Sizes

Set the default for the Outside and Opening Size in the Admin > Editor section.

Lock or Unlock Size

  • Click the Unlock icon toggle to Lock the size of the current template opening. 

  • Click the Locked icon toggle to Unlock the size of the current template opening.

X and Y Position Fields

X (Position Field)

  • Enter the new X Position to move the currently selected openings.

The X Position field is used to manually set the horizontal position of the selected template object. 

Y (Position Field)

  • Enter the new Y Position to move the currently selected openings.

 Y Position Definition

The Y Position field is used to manually set the vertical position of the selected template object. 

Rotation Entry Field

  • Enter the desired degree of rotation in the Rotation* field.

 Rotation Definition

Rotation is the action of rotating an object around an axis or center.

  • The currently selected Template will pivot from the center point.  


Template Options Reveal Tab

Use the Template Options Reveals tab section to select number of layers, reveals, Reverse Bevel, and cartridge selection.

Number of Layers

  • Enter the number of layers desired.

Layers for this template opening. 

  • Each layer entry is identified by a layer number.

  • The topmost layer is labelled Top.

Reveal

  • Enter the desired reveal amount for each layer in the Reveal field. 

 Reveal Definition

The reveal is the amount of the bottom matboard to be displayed when one mat window is stacked on top of another. A typical reveal between the top and bottom mat is 1/4".

Assigning a Template to Each Layer

  • Click the Reveals tab and select the desired layer.

  • Click the Template Name number button to open the Template Library.

The Template Library displays the different Templates of specialized parametric shape generators within Wizard's FrameShop software that are available for use.

  • Click on the desired template.

  • The new template will be placed on the selected layer.

NOTE: Not all templates are available for use with this template.

Set the Default for the Layer Direction

 Default Settings for Layer Direction

Set the default for Layer Direction in the Admin > Defaults section.

Set the Default for the Reveals

Set the default for Reveal Width in the Admin > Defaults section.

Set the Default Number of Layers

 Default Setting for the Default Number of Layers

Set the default for the number of layers in the Admin > Editor section.

Reverse Bevel

Use RB to make the layer a Reverse Bevel.

 Reverse Bevel Definition

Cutting with a Reverse Bevel displays no bevel on the face of the mat.

  • Click the RB button to make all of the layers a Reverse Bevel

  • Click the RB checkbox on the desired layer to make that layer a Reverse Bevel.    

Template Options Parameters

Use the Template Options Parameters tab to edit the parameter attributes for the selected template. 

 Parameters Definition

The Parameters are numerical factors that form one of a set that defines or sets the condition of the object.

  • The 106 Mixed template allows a different template to be assigned to each layer, so these attributes are directly related to the layer selected. 

  • Select the desired layer to edit from the Params for Layer field, and edit the parameters for that template. 

  • The design changes to reflect these changes.

  • See Template Parameter Map below for information on what the specific fields adjust.

Template Parameter Map

  • Click on the Template Parameter Map button (displayed as [?]) on the Parameters tab.

  • A template map opens which describes what each parameter field adjusts for in the currently selected template layer of the 106 Mixed.

Cartridge Icon

Click on the Cartridge Icon and select the desired cartridge for the current layer. 

 Cartridge Definition

A cartridge is a component that contains a blade, stylus, pen or other apparatus that can be inserted into the head to perform a function, such as cutting, Debossing, Pen, etc.

  • NOTE: Not all Cartridges are available in this scenario.

  • To use a non-blade cartridge, see “Availability of Other Cartridges” below.

Availability of Other Cartridges

The non-blade cartridges (Deboss, Pen and Vinyl) are not available as a selection from the Cartridge Icon dropdown control in the Template Properties.

However, there is another way to perform this.

  • For this example, place a Deboss object onto the Editor.

  • With the Deboss selected click the Properties tab.

  • Click the Template Number and Name button.

  • The Template Library will open.

  • Select a different template SHAPE for the Deboss. Templates not available for this function are not displayed.  

  • The template shape is now Debossed.
