CutArt Properties

 CutArt Definition

CutArt are simple shapes and design elements created by Wizard.

  • Use CutArt Properties to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for the CutArt.

  • Optionally, Right-Click on the CutArt and select Edit.

CutArt Opening 

Use the CutArt Opening section to add a label or select a different CutArt.

Name

  • The name of the current CutArt is displayed in the Name field. 

Label

  • Enter the desired text in the Label field.

  • The label will be displayed on the CutArt opening. 

Change CutArt

Change the CutArt with the Change CutArt button.

Set the Default to Auto Label Multi Openings

 Default Settings to Auto Label Multi Openings

Set the default for Auto Label Multi Openings in the Admin > Editor section.

Dimensions

Use the Dimensions Section to change the size, lock dimensions, set the X/Y positioning, or rotate the CutArt.

Dimensions

  • Enter the object Width

  • Enter the object Height

 Sizes Button Definition

The Sizes Button displays the Recent and Standard sizes. 

 Swap Button Definition

The Swap Button switches the values between the width and height fields.

Set the Defaults for the Sizes Dropdown Control

 Default Settings for the Sizes Dropdown Control

Set the default for the Sizes dropdown control in the Admin > Defaults section.

Set the Defaults for the Outside and Opening Size

 Default Settings for the Default Outside and Opening Sizes

Set the default Outside and Opening Size in the Admin > Editor section.

Set the Default to Enforce Minimum Sizes

 Default Settings to Enforce Minimum Sizes

Set the default for Enforce Minimum Sizes in the Admin > Editor section.

Lock or Unlock CutArt Size

Lock the size of the object to avoid adjusting it when dragging the mouse.

  • Click unlock to Lock the size of the current object. 

  • Click locked to Unlock the size of the current object.

X and Y Position Fields

Use the X/Y fields to move objects to specific horizontal/vertical coordinates.

  • Enter the new X position to move the selected object horizontally.

  • Enter the new Y to move the selected object vertically.

 X Position Definition

The X Position field is used to manually set the horizontal position of the selected template object. 

 Y Position Definition

The Y Position field is used to manually set the vertical position of the selected template object. 

  • Lines shown for illustration.

Rotation Entry Field

  • Enter the desired degree of Rotation* for the selected object.

 Rotation Definition

Rotation is the action of rotating an object around an axis or center.

  • The selected object will pivot from the center point.  


Minimum Width and Height

Min Width 

  • The original CutArt width is displayed in the Min Width field.  

Min Height 

  • The original CutArt height is displayed in the Min Height field.

  • Cutting below the Minimum Width/Height is not recommended.

CutArt Options

Use the CutArt Options section to select Mirror, set KAR and Use Original Size for the CutArt.

Mirror the CutArt

Mirror flips the CutArt Horizontally.

  • Click on the CutArt.

  • Check Mirror the CutArt checkbox to flip the CutArt horizontally.

To flip the design vertically, see Rotation above.

  • The CutArt is mirrored horizontally

  • To flip the design vertically, see Rotation above.

Keep Aspect Ratio

Keep Aspect Ratio (KAR) keeps the CutArt height/width proportionate when resizing.

 KAR Definition

KAR stands for Keep Aspect Ratio and keeps the CutArt/Image/LetterMat/etc. height and width proportionate to avoid distortion.

  • For best results, it is recommended to have KAR checked to avoid skewing the CutArt.

  • The CutArt will remain height/width proportionate when resized.

Use Original Size

  • The Use Original Size button to reset the CutArt to the original size it was drawn. 

  • Cutting smaller than original size is not recommended, and may give unexpected results.

  • CutArts can be Debossed, Penned and cut on Vinyl much smaller than they can be cut on Matboard.

Cartridge Selection and Type

  • Click the Cartridge Icon and select the desired cartridge for the current layer.

 Cartridge Definition

A Cartridge is a component that contains a blade, stylus, pen or other apparatus that can be inserted into the head to perform a function, such as cutting, Debossing, Pen, etc.

  • When applicable, select the desired Cartridge Type from the Type dropdown control. 

  • Selections available are dependent upon the Cartridge selected.

  • No labels
