Crease Properties

The Crease cartridge is used when cutting a thicker box to apply crease marks that are used to assist in folding the finished box product.

Use Crease Properties to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for Crease objects.

  • Optionally, Right-Click on the Crease and select Edit.

Crease Opening 

Use the Crease Opening section to add a label or select a different template.

Label

Enter a Label for the Crease opening.

  • Enter the desired text in the Label field.

  • The label will be displayed on the Crease opening. 

Change to Template  

Change the template with the Template Name and Number Button.

  • Click Template Number and Number button.

  • The Template Library opens.

  • Select a different template from the Template Library.

  • The template will be updated to the new template.

  • Changing the Shape of the Crease is not available.

Set the Default for the Crease Cartridge/Box Defaults

The default setting for the Box Defaults can be set in the Admin > Editor section.

Dimensions

Use the Dimension Section to edit and/or lock the Crease object dimensions, set the X/Y positioning, or rotate the Crease object.

  • Width: Enter the object/outside  Width dimension.

  • Height: Enter the object/outside Height dimension. 

  • Sizes Button: The Sizes button displays a list of Recent and Standard sizes. 

  • Swap Button: The Swap button switches the values between the width and height fields. 

Lock or Unlock Size

  • Click the unlock icon toggle to Lock the size of the current Crease opening. 

  • Conversely, click the locked icon toggle to Unlock the size of the current Crease opening. 

X and Y Position Fields

X (Position Field)

  • The X Position field is used to manually set the horizontal position of the selected Crease object (lines shown for illustration). 

Y (Position Field) 

  • The Y Position field is used to manually set the vertical position of the selected Crease object (lines shown for illustration).

Rotation Entry Field

  • Enter the desired degree of rotation in the Rotation field.

  • The currently selected Crease will pivot from the center point.

  • To rotate a group of objects or to manually rotate an object, see Rotation on the Advanced Tab.

Distance

  • The Distance is the space between the Crease and the object the Crease is attached to in the Attach To field. 

  • If the Crease is not attached to anything, the Distance field is grayed out.

NOTE: Offsetting the Crease from an object when initially placing the Crease does not automatically attach the Crease to that object.

  • Changing the Distance number will offset the Crease the new distance from the object. 

Attach To

  • Click Attach To and select the desired object to attach the current Crease from the dropdown control. 

  • If you resize the item that the Crease is attached to (opening or outside), it will remain the distance displayed in the Distance field and resize proportionately. 

NOTE: Offsetting the Crease from an object when initially placing the Crease does not automatically attach the Crease to that object.

Here the Crease is attached to an opening. 

Crease Attached to the Mat

Here the Crease is attached to the mat.

Cartridge Selection and Type

Use the Cartridge and Type section to select the desired Cartridge and Cartridge Type for the particular layer of the object.

  • Click on the Cartridge Icon and select the desired cartridge for the current object.  

  • Select Crease to use the Crease cartridge on the current object. 

  • Changing it to a non-Crease Cartridge will change the Crease to that Cartridge type; i.e., changing it from a Crease Cartridge to a 52 Degree Cartridge will make it a 52 Degree V-Groove opening. 

Cartridge Type

When applicable, select the desired cartridge type from the Type dropdown control. 

Selections available are dependent upon the type of Cartridge tool selected.
