Grouped Objects Properties

Use the Grouped Objects Properties to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for the grouped objects.

Click on a Grouped Object and click on the Properties Tab

Optionally, Right-Click on the grouped opening and select Edit to open the Grouped Object Properties.

Selecting a Group of Openings

You can select a group of openings and group them together, merging any overlapping sections.

Merging a Group of Openings

The selection of objects can be made by clicking and drawing a box around the desired group of objects.

Optionally, hold down the Shift or CTRL key and click on each object with the mouse. 

Then click on the Group Selections button to group and/or merge the objects together.

Alternatively, click on the Group Selection button on the Advanced Tab.

The objects will group and any overlapping areas will be merged together.  

Grouping objects in this manner locks them together, so even if you click elsewhere on the screen, these objects will still be grouped and will be treated as one object.

Grouped Properties

The Grouped Objects section allows the user to ungroup the currently grouped and merged objects.

Ungroup Selection

The Ungroup Selection button ungroups and unmerges previously grouped and merged objects.

Alternatively, click on the Group Selection button in the Tools section or click on the UnGroup Selectionbutton on the Advanced Tab

Ungrouped objects will also be unmerged from their merged state.

Dimensions

Use the Dimension Section to edit and/or lock the grouped object dimensions, set the X/Y positioning, or rotate the grouped object.

Width

Enter the grouped object Width dimension.  

Height 

Enter the grouped object Height dimension. 

Sizes Button

The Sizes button displays a list of Recent and Standard sizes. 

Swap Button

The Swap button switches the values between the width and height fields.

Lock or Unlock Size

Click the unlock icon toggle to Lock the size of the current grouped object. 

Conversely, click the locked icon toggle to Unlock the size of the current grouped object.

X and Y Position Fields

X (Position Field)   

The X Position field is used to manually set the horizontal position of the selected grouped object (lines shown for illustration).  

Y (Position Field) 

The Y Position field is used to manually set the vertical position of the selected grouped object (lines shown for illustration).

Rotation Entry Field 

Enter the desired degree of rotation in the Rotation field.

The grouped object will be pivoted from the center point.

Merge Paths

The Merge Paths checkbox merges any overlapped openings into one opening.

Unchecking Merge Paths only groups any overlapped openings and does not merge them. This is useful if the user wants to bring the overlapped openings into Trace to manually merge them as desired.
