Have Two Layers of adequate size of disposable matboard under the Mat to be Cut; a Layer can be temporarily removed when cutting thicker matboard. Place the matboard into the left corner of the CMC, making sure that the matboard nestles tightly into the Horizontal and Vertical Clamps.
