These are the steps for cutting a mat.

The screen indicator will display if you are cutting from the back or the front of the mat.

Place Matboard on the Board

Place the matboard on the CMC with the front of the mat facing the board when cutting from the back and with the front of the mat facing the user when cutting from the front.

Check for Clamp Interference

Check for Clamp Interference on the CMC Z1 and Z (9000z), and adjust the finger-clamps accordingly.

Click Cut

Click the Cut button on the Cutting Preview screenScreen.

Align the Head

If the motors on the CMC are disengaged, the user will be prompted to Align the Head.

If the current layer uses a different blade cartridge or is a different mat thickness than the last layer cut, the user will be prompted to change the cartridge and/or blade depth.

Change the Blade Cartridge and Blade Depth

Change the Blade Cartridge and Blade Depth as prompted, and click OK.

After the Head is Aligned, the desired Blade Cartridge inserted and the Blade Depth adjusted as prompted, the CMC will begin to cut.
