Rotation on Openings

The Rotationfield controls how much the foot block will rotate before cutting. Adjust the Rotationif you are getting Swoopsor Flaresin the corners on a non-oval opening.

If you have too much Rotation Rotation on a non-oval opening you will get a Flare, too little rotation and you will get a Swoop

Current Bevel Type

Select the desired Cartridge Type Tab and then the bevel type you want to edit from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control before making adjustments. Select Current Bevel Type-Front of Mat if it is being cut from the front of the mat.

Degrees of Rotation for Non-Oval Openings

In Rotation, eight points equals one degree of rotation. 

Users usually make adjustments 4 points at a time.

Increase the Rotationto turn the foot block clockwise to correct for a Swoop.

Decrease the Rotationto turn the foot block counterclockwise to correct for a Flare.

Opening Swoop 

The beginning of the cut swoops toward the non-oval opening.

Increase the Rotation.

Twisted Corner

Twisted Corner is when the blade turns before retracting from the matboard, which tears the matboard and twists the corner, which is seen especially visible on the back of the mat.

Check to make sure the Rotation Rotation hasn't been set to a high number.

Twisted corners can also be a symptom of oil/water in the Air Valve, or an issue with the Head. Check the Air Regulator for excess water.
