Opening Sizes and Template

Current Openings

Info
  • The Current Openings section displays the openings that have been entered for this project.

  • Each opening is listed one size/one template per line.

  • Edit the size, change the number of openings and select a different template (described below).

  • Click the Width entry and enter a new width.

  • Click the Height entry and enter a new height.

  • Click the # entry and change the number of openings as desired.

  • Set the number to zero to delete the entry.

Template

  • Click the Template Number to select a different template.

  • The Template Library opens.

  • Scroll through the list to see the Templates available. 

  • Click on the desired Template Thumbnail to select it.

Templatesare specialized parametric shape generators created by Wizard.

Many of the templates have additional Properties that can be edited which can change the shape, curves and corners of the design as well as a wide assortment of Parameters.

The Template Library displays the different templates that are available for use.

  • There are three tabs to select from: Single, Multi, and Array

  • Click on the Multi tab.

  • The Multi tab is for placing several openings to bring into the Editor to arrange their placement.

New Openings Screen: Multi

  • Use the New Openings Screen to quickly create a template design or to start a new project.

  • The Multi tab is for placing several openings to bring into the Editor to arrange their placement.

  • Click New Mat Design on the main screen.

  • The New Openings Screen will open.

  • Default Settings: See Admin > Editor for the default settings on whether or not to display the New Openings Screen.

Add New Openings

  • Enter the opening Width.

  • Enter the opening Height.

  • Click Add New Opening.

  • The opening will be displayed in the Current Openings listing.

  • Continue adding the desired openings.

Tip
  • Default Settings: See Admin > Defaults to set the default for displaying the Opening Size First or the Outside Size First on the New Openings Screen.

Outside Size

  • If the outside dimension is not specified, it will use the Dynamic Outsides to set the outside of the mat. 

  • Enter the outside dimension, if desired. 

  • Enter the Outside Width, if desired.

  • Enter the Outside Height, if desired.

titleOutside Bevel Definition

The Outside Bevel is created by cutting into the fallout surface with the blade angled at 45°/52°, thereby slanting the bevel under the fallout surface. The matboard core is not visible from the front.

The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut.

Select Outside or Outside-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit this configuration.

The Dynamic Outsides feature adds the Border Size to the Bounding Rectangle of the current Group of Openings, adjusting the Outside Size as necessary in Designer and Visualize.

  • Click OK to bring the openings into the Editor to finish editing the design.
