X and Y Origin

Info
  • Use the X Origin (Horizontal) and Y Origin (Vertical) fields to move the design to the specific location to cut.

  • Click on the design to select it.

  • Enter a new or Y Origin value and tab out of the field.

  • It will move the lower left corner point of the design to the new X/Y Position on the Cut Preview Screen.

  • Previous Cuts are displayed in Faded Grey to help the user position the current design on the screen.

  • To clear the Previous Cuts from the screen, click Clear Cut History.

titlePrevious Cuts Definition

The Previous Cuts are displayed on the Cut Preview as Faded Gray outlines.

These allow you to position the next cut beside a previous cut when cutting several designs from the same mat, such as when Calibrating the CMC.

This can be turned on/off in the Options menu, and the previous cuts can be cleared from the screen with the Clear Cut History button.

Enable Auto Offset

  • Select Auto Offset checkbox to move the design up and over on the matboard to avoid the Clamp area on the Cut Preview.

Tip
  • Click on the design to select it.

  • Check the Auto Offset checkbox.  

  • Enter the distance to move the design in the X Origin field; the Y Origin field uses the same numerical value. 

  • It will move the lower left corner of the design to the new X/Y Position and it will display Dodge on the bottom of the screen.

  • This feature is also turned on by selecting Full from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control.

This is to overcome the Border Limitation of 1.25"/3.2 cm on the Cut Preview.

Disable Auto Offset

  • Disabling the Auto Offset will cut the design normally without being offset into the mat.

Tip
  • Click on the design to select it.

  • Uncheck the Auto Offset checkbox.

  • The design will no longer be offset and will cut the design normally unless values have been entered in the X Origin and Y Origin fields as described above.

  • This is useful when cutting the opening from a pre-cut sheet matboard and not cutting the outside.

  • Note: The outside cut is shown here merely for visual reference of where the pre-cut matboard will be positioned on the board. This feature can also be used to move the design to avoid flaws in the matboard.

Home Button

  • The Home button will return the current design back to the Home position on the Cut Preview screen after cutting it elsewhere on the board.

  • Click on the design to select it.

  • Click the Home button.

  • The current design will be returned to the Home position on the Cutting Cut Preview Screen.

Clear Cut History Button

  • The Previous Cuts on the screen are drawn out in Faded Gray outlines.

  • Click the Clear Cut History button.

  • The Previous Cuts on the screen are erased.

  • This is helpful when the previous cuts are a distraction for the current session, or you no longer need them as a reference when moving the position of the current design to cut.
