• This topic focuses on grouped and merged objects, not Selected Group of Objects Properties.

• Use the Grouped Objects Properties to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for the grouped objects.

• Optionally, Right-Click on the grouped opening and select Properties.

• Grouping a selection of openings will treat the openings as one object. Any overlapping sections sharing the same bevel type will merge together.

• Optionally, hold down the Shift or CTRL key and click on each object with the mouse to select them.

• Alternatively, click on the Group Selection button in the Tools section.

The Group Selection button will combine the Group of Selected Objects to form a single entity.

Any overlapping sections sharing the same Bevel Type will Merge together, removing the interior sections that are not part of the new continuous sequence around the outside edge of the combined objects.

• The Merged Objects section allows the user to ungroup the currently grouped and merged objects.

• Alternatively, click on the Group Selection button in the Tools section or click on the UnGroup Selectionbutton on the Advanced Tab. 

• Ungrouped objects will also be unmerged from their merged state.

The Sizes Button displays the Recent and Standard sizes. 

Recent lists the last ten sizes entered.

Standard lists Standard sizes associated with the current unit of measurement.

The Swap button switches values between the width/height fields.

• Lock the size of the object to avoid adjusting it when dragging the mouse.

Use the Lock/Unlock feature to prevent the size of the opening from being changed by accidentally dragging the control corners with the mouse in Designer.

The X Position field is used to set or display the Horizontal position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview.

The Y Position field is used to set or display the Vertical position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview.

• The selected object will pivot from the center point.  

• *To rotate a group of template objects, see Rotation on the Advanced Tab. 

• *To lock a group of template objects together and rotate them as one object, see Group Openings Button and then use the Rotate field under the Merged Object Properties, or the Rotation button on the Advanced Tab.

The Rotation function in Designer is the action of rotating the selected object(s) around an axis or center by the specified number of degrees.

• The Merge Paths checkbox merges any overlapped openings into one opening.

• This is useful if the user wants to bring the overlapped openings into Trace to manually merge them as desired.
