Note: Not all cartridges are available for all CMC models.

The Exterior Backup controls where the Blade Plunges into the Matboard (not the Fallout) on the Exterior cut. 

The Exterior Backup field is marked with a Green Arrow on the Configuration screen and the Map illustration.

If the Exterior Backup is cut Too Short, it can leave a Hook in the corner.

If the Exterior Backup is cut Too Long, Decrease the Exterior Backup.

If the Exterior Backup is cut Too Short, Increase the Exterior Backup.

Select the desired Cartridge Tab. 

Select the Drop Bevel Type* from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control.

Edit the Exterior Backup field.

*Select Current Bevel Type-Front of Mat when cutting from the front of the mat.

*The different Drop Bevel Types, including whether it is cutting from the Front or Back, controls the cut direction of the Head, and determines whether the cut is a Backup or an Overcut.

Adjusting the Exterior Backup

• When adjusting Configurations, click the Plus/Minus on the desired field about five times.

• Click OK and do another test cut.

• Continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved.

• Exterior Backup cuts Too Long.

• Exterior Backup cuts Too Long:

  • Decrease the Exterior Backup.
