X and Y Position Fields

X (Position Field)

Template Options Reveal Tab

Use the Template Options Reveals tab section to select number of layers, reveals, Reverse Bevel, and cartridge selection.

Number of Layers

  • Enter the number of layers desired.

  • Enter the desired reveal amount for each layer in the Reveal field.

The reveal In a two-layer design, the Reveal is the amount of the bottom matboard to be displayed when one mat window is stacked on top of another. A typical reveal showing under the top mat in Designer and Visualize.

The standard Reveal between the top and bottom mat is 1/4".

  • Click the RB checkbox on the desired layer to make that layer a Reverse Bevel.

The Reverse Bevel is when the Angle of the blade cuts the Matboard surface so it Slants Under the surface of the Matboard, and the Matboard Core is Not Seen from the front.

The Bevel Type is the Angle that the blade cuts on the Matboard/Fallout surface when it is not cut at a 90° Right Angle.

Use the Template Options Parameters tab to edit the parameter attributes for the selected template.

  • The

Parameters are numerical factors that form one of a set that defines or sets the condition of the object.
  • The 106 Mixed template allows a different template to be assigned to each layer, so these attributes are directly related to the layer selected. 

  • Select the desired layer to edit from the Params for Layer field, and edit the parameters for that template. 

  • The design changes to reflect these changes.

The Parameters are a set of specified variable characteristics related to the selected object that can be modified through the accompanying fields in Designer.

For example, the Chamfer is the symmetrical angled surface at the corner of the Template.

In Designer, the Template Parameter Map displays a diagram describing each parameter field for the current Template.

Template Parameter Map

  • Click on the Template Parameter Map button (displayed as [?]) on the Parameters tab.

  • A template map opens which describes what each parameter field adjusts for in the currently selected template layer of the 106 Mixed.

Cartridge Icon

Click on the Cartridge Icon and select the desired cartridge for the current layer.

Availability of Other Cartridges

The non-blade cartridges (Deboss, Pen and Vinyl) are not available as a selection from the Cartridge Icon dropdown control in the Template Properties.

However, there is another way to perform this.

  • For this example, place a Deboss object onto the Editor.

  • With the Deboss selected click the Properties tab.

  • Click the Template Number and Name button.

  • The Template Library will open.

  • Select a different template SHAPE for the Deboss. Templates not available for this function are not displayed.  

  • The template shape is now Debossed.
