Location Tab

Info

The Location tab allows the user to specify the desired position on the board to cut the current design. This is helpful when calibrating, avoiding flaws in the matboard, reusing scraps, etc.

X and Y Origin

Info
  • Use the X Origin (Horizontal) and Y Origin (Vertical) fields to specify the location to cut the current mat.

The X Position field is used to manually set the horizontal position of the selected template object.

The Y Position field is used to manually set the vertical position of the selected template object. 

  • Click on the design to select it.

  • Enter a new or Y Origin value and tab out of the field.

  • It will move the lower left corner of the current design to the new X/Y position on the Cut Preview Screen.

  • Previous cuts are displayed in grey to help the user position the current design on the screen.

Enable Auto Clamp Offset

  • Select Enable Auto Clamp Offset checkbox to move the design up and over on the matboard to avoid the clamp area on the CMC Z1 and Z (9000z), similar to the Enable Rail Dodge below.

The Auto Clamp Offset moves the design up and over on the matboard to avoid the clamp area on the CMC Z1 and Z (9000z) to overcome the border limitation of 1.25"/3.2 cm when not cutting the outside.

  • Click on the design to select it.

  • Check the Enable Auto Clamp Offset checkbox.  

  • Enter the distance to move the design in the X Origin field; the Y Origin field uses the same numerical value. 

  • It will move the lower left corner of the design to the new X/Y position and it will display Dodge on the bottom of the screen.

  • This feature is also turned on by selecting Full from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control.

Disable Auto Clamp Offset

  • Disabling the Auto Clamp Offset will cut the design normally without being offset into the mat on the CMC Z1 and Z (9000z).

  • The Enable Rail Dodge will move the design up and over on the matboard to avoid the clamping area on the CMC 9000 and 8000.

Rail Dodge moves the design up and over on the matboard to avoid the clamp area on the CMC 9000 and 8000 to overcome the border limitation of 1.5”/3.8cm when not cutting the outside.

  • Click on the design to select it.

  • Check the Enable Rail Dodge checkbox to use a Rail Dodge on CMC 9000 and 8000

  • A Rail Dodge is a small piece of matboard or other material used to position the pre-cut matboard up into the cutting area when using borders less than 1.5" and not cutting the outside.

  • Enter the distance to move the design in the X Origin field; the Y Origin field uses the same numerical value. 

  • It will move the lower left corner of the design to the new X/Y position and it will display Dodge on the bottom of the screen.

Note: The outside cut is shown here merely for visual reference of where the pre-cut matboard will be positioned on the board. This feature can also be used to move the design to avoid flaws in the matboard.

Move Origin Arrows

Info
  • Use the origin arrows to move the current design on the cut preview screen by the same width/height of the design to where you would it to cut. This allows you to cut consecutive mats when calibrating, or using up scrap mats, etc.

  • Click on the design to select it.

  • The Move Origin Arrows (Up, Down, Left or Right) moves the current design by a full design's width or height in the direction of the arrow.

  • The design's width or height also includes the outside dimension. 

  • For example, clicking the right arrow will move the design over the same full design width to the right, so that it can be cut next to the previous cut that was made with this design.

Home Button

Info
  • The Home button will return the current design back to the home position on the cut preview screen after cutting it elsewhere on the board.

  • Click on the design to select it.

  • Click the Home button.

  • The current design will be returned to the home position on the Cutting Preview Screen.

Clear Cut History Button

Info
  • Use the Clear Cut History button to clear the previously cut mats from the Cut Preview Screen.

  • The previous cuts on the screen are drawn out in gray.

  • Click the Clear Cut History button.

  • The previous cuts on the screen are erased.

  • This is helpful when the location of the previous cuts is a distraction, or you no longer need them as a reference when moving the location of the current design to cut.
