Positioning Arrow

The Positioning button toggles between positioning from the top or the bottom layer, as indicated by the arrow direction.

Select the Positioning Arrow down.

Using Guides

Guides toggle appears brighter when on.

Guides On allows object edges/centers to snap to Guide lines.

Guides Off allows object edges to be placed without snapping to Guide lines.

Manual Guide

Place two 3x5 (7x13 cm) openings on a 16x20 (40x50 cm) roughly as displayed.

Make sure Guides are toggled on.

Place a Vertical Guide by clicking and holding mouse button on the left ruler area and dragging onto the Work Space.

Place a Horizontal Guide by clicking and holding mouse button on the top ruler area and dragging down onto work space.

Hint: The ruler outlining the Work Space also displays the position of the Guide.

Edit Guide

Click on the Vertical Guide to select it.

Click on the Properties Tab.

Enter 5 (13 cm) in the top field; the bottom number automatically fills in with 11 (27 cm).

  • Top field is distance from the left of the mat.

  • Bottom field is distance from the right of the mat.

Click on the Horizontal Guide to select it.

Enter 12 (30 cm) for the top field; the bottom number automatically fills in with 8 (20 cm).

Top field is distance from the bottom of the mat, the bottom field is the distance from the top of the mat.

The Guides are placed as designated.

Openings can center over a guide line.

Move the bottom opening so it centers along the Vertical Guide.

Move the top opening so it centers over the Horizontal Guide.

Guides allow the object edges or centers to snap to the Guide Lines, and any number of Guides can be used on the Editor.

Move top opening to align to the top of the Horizontal Guide.

Move the bottom opening to align to the right of the Vertical Guide.

Guide from Opening

Right-click on the bottom opening and select New Vertical Guide then Right.

A Vertical Guide is placed on the right edge of the selected opening.

Move the top opening over so that it snaps to the Horizontal Guide and the new Vertical Guide.

Change the top opening to be 3x3 (7x7 cm).

Right-click on the bottom opening and select New Horizontal Guide then select Middle.

A Horizontal Guide appears in the center of the selected opening.

Move the top opening down so that it centers over the new Horizontal Guide.

Guide Relative Distance from Opening

Right-click on the larger opening and select New Vertical Guide then Other.

The Other Distance screen will pop up.

Click Distance from Right for the direction.

Enter 2 (5 cm) for the distance.

Click Ok to place the new Guide 2” (5 cm) to the right of the opening.

Move the smaller opening so that the left edge snaps to the new Guide, while still remaining centered over the Horizontal Guide.

Remove Guides

Click Edit on the top menu bar and click Select All then Guides to select all of the Guides.

Right-click on a Guide and select Remove Guide(s).

Center Guides

Click Tools menu and select Add New Guides to place Guides centered horizontally and vertically on the mat.

Note: Center Guides are not dynamic. If the outside dimension is changed, the Center Guides do not move to the mat’s new center position.

Move the larger rectangle so that its snaps to the center of the Guide Lines.
